Transgender Hair Transplants
Among the many challenges facing trans women is dealing with male pattern baldness, which can ruin all attempts at a female presentation. Hair restoration surgery can be enormously helpful for these women by creating a feminine hairline and and/or addressing any areas of hair loss. Just as with cis men, some trans women will not be suitable candidates for hair transplantation—but many can achieve a striking and emotionally gratifying change in appearance. It is particularly important for a transitioning woman to be proactive about hair loss, even before a decision has been made regarding hair transplantation.
FTM transitioning has its own set of hair-related challenges, generally related to the lack of facial and chest hair. Hair transplantation can be very helpful in achieving a masculine appearance.
