southsidesteve2013Southside Steve is a radio talk show host on Rock 100.5. He is native to the Atlanta area and has a long history in the entertainment business from being the voice for the Atlanta Silverbacks soccer team to opening for George Carlin at the Fox Theatre. Steve started his career at WRAS 88.5 and has made many stops along the way including 96 ROCK and Eagle 106.7. Steve was nominated for the 2015 Georgia Radio Hall of Fame.

Even though Southside Steve stays on the radio most of the time, he was concerned about his hairline like most men. He turned to Dr. Ballon for help. Steve could trust Dr. Ballon to do an excellent job because of his decade of experience in hair restoration and his prior successful career as a neurosurgeon. Also, Dr. Ballon is the only hair transplant surgeon in Georgia certified by the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery.

Hair transplants are no exception to the rule that time changes everything. Some patients with older transplants may have had some additional hair loss in addition to a transplant they now find aesthetically unsatisfactory. Combining repair with additional transplants is a common procedure to achieve a denser look to the hair. However, it may also present challenges such as finding enough donor hair to accomplish both goals.

Agreed. It takes experience, judgment, and surgical artistry to allocate the available donor hair in such a way as to provide a visually pleasing result. Even after multiple procedures, there’s almost always *some* donor hair left; the question is whether there’s enough to make a cosmetically significant difference. And sometimes the honest and ethical surgeon must say “no”. (Dr. B)
